Emerging market leader: Chris Rose – 47abc

WMDT – It’s Monday and that means it’s time to introduce you to a new rising leader who is doing remarkable things in the Delmarva community.

Today we meet Chris Rose, the TOPS 2023 Delaware Queen!

TOPS or Take Off Pounds Sensibly is a nonprofit organization that fights obesity by supporting and educating people on their weight loss journey.

Chris lost nearly 40 pounds in her 70s and thanks the organization for helping her drastically change her lifestyle for the better.

She tells us she was shocked when she won this prestigious title and says she originally joined the TOPs just to make friends.

Chris tells us that at the beginning of her journey she went down from a size 22 to a size 12.

Many of her old clothes were donated to those in need.

For those who also want to lose weight, Chris says the most important thing is dedication and discipline.

Some of the healthy habits she has developed include watching her sugar intake and controlling portion sizes.

She focused more on nutrition than training during her journey, but says success will look different for everyone.
