Eminem’s “The Death of Slim Shady”: Poll on favorite song

Eminem’s long-awaited 12th studio album, The death of Slim Shady, has been out for more than a whole weekend, meaning fans have had plenty of time to decide on their favorite songs from the album – and Billboard would like to know yours.

Four years after topping the Billboard 200 in 2020 Music to murderthe Detroit rapper’s latest LP, dropped Friday (July 12) and received almost immediate positive feedback from listeners. Many fans flocked to the more classic Slim tracks like lead single “Houdini” — which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in June — or second single “Tobey,” featuring Big Sean and BabyTron. Others were more taken with the emotional, family-focused ballads “Temporary” and “Somebody Save Me,” with the former serving as a love letter from Em to his daughter Hailie Jade before his death and the latter serving as an apology to all three of the hip-hop star’s children for his mistakes as a father and heavily sampling Jelly Roll’s hit “Save Me.”

Regardless, the 19-track effort has blown fans away. “I’m speechless,” someone tweeted a few hours after the album’s release. “25 years later, we’ve come full circle. Eminem delivers one of his best albums and shows us one last time what Slim Shady does.”

“He just released the best album of the last decade… Your favorite rapper can’t fucking compete with that,” another person on X added.
