“I just want to do my part. Why should men decide what that is?!” Roadside Attractions has released the full official trailer for leea biographical film about the famous war photographer Lee Miller. This film premiered at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival last fall and also played at AFI Fest. It is the first feature film directed by acclaimed cinematographer Ellen Kuras. The story begins in 1938 in the South of France, where Lee Miller is vacationing with her dearest and closest friends who are artists, poets and confidants. She was a model who became a celebrated war correspondent for Vogue magazine during World War II. Her unique talent and unbridled tenacity resulted in some of the most indelible war images of the 20th century, including an iconic photograph of Miller herself posing defiantly in Hitler’s private bathtub. The full cast includes Alexander Skarsgard, Andrea Riseborough, Marion Cotillard, Josh O’Connor, Noémie Merlant, Samuel BarnettAnd Andy Samberg and her friend, photographer David E. Scherman, who accompanied her at the front. “Lee lived her life at full speed, for which she paid a high emotional price.” A very good trailer that portrays the stakes and harrowing context of World War II in Europe, where she photographed at the beginning of the war.

Lee, directed by award-winning cinematographer Ellen Kuras, portrays a pivotal decade in the life of the American war correspondent and photographer. Lee Miller (played by Kate Winslett). Miller’s unique talent and fierce tenacity resulted in some of the most indelible war images of the 20th century, including an iconic photograph of Miller herself posing defiantly in Hitler’s private bathtub. Lee Miller had a deep understanding and compassion for women and the silent victims of war. Her images depict both the fragility and savagery of the human experience. Most importantly, the film shows Miller living her life full throttle in search of the truth, paying a heavy personal price and having to confront a traumatic and deeply buried secret from her childhood. lee Directed by the American cameraman/filmmaker Ellen Kurasher feature film directing debut after directing for television, including episodes of The Umbrella Academy and Inventing Anna. Screenplay by Liz Hannah and Marion Hume & John Collee; from a story by Lem Dobbs and Marion Hume & John Collee. Adapted from the biography The Lives of Lee Miller by Antony Penrose.
