These performances are essential to conveying the story and helping people get excited about the characters and their individual stories and motivations. You’ll spend a lot of time listening to spoken text in Wuthering Waves, so here’s our full list of key English voice actors, along with where you might have heard them before. This list is accurate as of version 1.1.

Aalto – James Day

Aalto is a four-star character in Wuthering Waves. He plays a role in the main story. He is an information broker for the New Federation and also works as a consultant for Black Shores. As far as voice acting work in games goes, James Day has only voiced one other character in Arknights, another mobile gacha game.

Baizhi – Samantha Dakin

You meet Baizhi fairly early in the game and she is one of the first free characters you receive. A researcher at the Huaxu Academy, she is the person who introduces the Rover to combat simulations. You may know Samantha Dakin from her fantastic portrayal as Adelle in Bravely Default 2 or as Anna Pascal in Triangle Strategy.

Chixia – Harriet Carmichael

Chixia, who you meet at the beginning of the game along with Yangyang, is a young patrol officer who is ready to help anyone in and around Jinzhou City. Of course, the real ones know that Harriet Carmichael lent her voice to Vanea in the phenomenal Xenoblade Chronicles. Harriet was also a recurring voice in Super Monsters and Dragons: Rescue Riders

Calcharo – Ben Cura

Calcharo is one of the standard 5-star characters on the permanent gacha banner. Story-wise, he is the leader of a mercenary group called the “Ghost Hounds.” His voice actor, Ben Cura, is another Arknights alumnus who also lends his voice to Dying Light 2.

Danjin – Sophie Colquhuon

Danjin is a member of the Midnight Rangers and is very skilled with the sword. According to the game’s official website, Danjin travels the lands honing her knowledge in search of the meaning of good and evil. Outside of WuWa, Sophie Colquhuon also lent her voice to Arknights, which is something of a theme with the voice actors in this game.

Encore – Carina Reeves

Encore is another of the 5-star characters available since the game’s launch. In the story, Encore is accompanied by her two Woolies as she goes about her business as an advisor to the Black Shores. Carina Reeves, on the other hand, will be familiar to those who played and no doubt loved Xenoblade Chronicles. In Xenoblade, Reeves voices Fiora and does it brilliantly. Reeves is also the English voice actress for Tataru in Final Fantasy 14.

Female Rover – Jane Jackson

Jane Jackson voices the main female character in Wuthering Waves. This character is known only as Rover and you can choose to be male or female when you start a new game. Jane Jackson hasn’t done much voice acting outside of WuWa, as in Arknights she is another voice actress in that cast who voices a character.

Jiyan – Alex Jordan

Jiyan was the first limited 5-star character added to Wuthering Waves. As for his place in the story, Jiyan is the general of the Midnight Rangers, who are stationed in Jinzhou. Alex Jordan was the voice of various characters in Lord of the Rings: Gollum and also played Ozmaldo Selleca in the DioField Chronicles.

Jianxin – Ionna Kimbrook

Jianxin is a Taoist monk in the world of Wuthering Waves. She travels through a secular land trying to find her place in it. Jianxin is also a standard 5-star character available through the permanent banner. Outside of Wuthering Waves, Ioanna Kimbrook has played mostly live-action characters.

Jinhsi – Anna Devlin

Jinhsi was introduced as a playable character in Patch 1.1. Jinhsi is the current magistrate of Jinzhou, making her a pretty important person in terms of lore. Anna Devlin is another voice actress on this list who has done more live-action work than voice acting for games and anime. You may know Devlin from her work as Nona in Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space.

Lingyang – Alexander Varadian

Lingyang is part of the Liondance troupe and joins the establishment in Jinzhou. Lingyang is another of the standard 5-star characters that is always available on the permanent banner. His voice is provided by Aleksander Varadian and this might be his very first major voice acting role.

Male Rover – Chase Brown

The male counterpart of the Rover. When you start the game, you can choose between the male or female main character. The Rover is basically a self-insert and you seemingly follow his story to play through the game. Chase Brown is another Arknights VA who provides a voice in Wuthering Waves. He also provided voices for Lies of P.

Sanhua – Jennifer Armour

Sanhua works as Jinhsi’s personal guard and we meet her pretty early in the story in Jinzhou. From Soma to Horizon: Forbidden West to Arknights, Jennifer Armour lends her voice to Sanhua and she’s done a lot of work in the voice acting business.

Taoqi – Clare Louise Connolly

Taoqi is part of the Jinzhou Development Department and is in charge of overseeing the border defense of Jinzhou, the largest city in Huanglong. She is voiced by Clar Louise Connolly, who also voiced Bayonetta: Origins and the 2014 Game of Thrones game.

Verina – Heather Nicol

Verina is all about plants, but somehow she ended up on the New Federation’s Pioneer Association Expedition Team. Verina is a character that can be drawn from the standard banner as one of the permanently available 5-star units. Heather Nicol voices Verina, and you might recognize her as Goldenglow from Arknights or Orleya from Another Eden: The Cat Beyond Time and Space.

Yangyang – Rebecca Yeo

Yangyang is one of the first characters we meet as Rover. She is a passionate defender and patrol officer, part of the Midnight Rangers, and serves as our guide and introduction to the world when we start a new game. Rebecca Yeo was also the voice of Cliffheart from Arknights.

Yinlin – Naomi McDonald

Yinlin is another Jinzhou patroller we meet in Wuthering Waves. These characters are usually fighters and are responsible for keeping monsters away from cities and places where humans live. If you have a good ear, you might recognize Naomi McDonald as one of the voices of the Tarnished in Elden Ring that you can choose. She was also the voice of Marie in Deracine, another game from FromSoft.

Yuanwu – Adam Diggle

Yuanwu is the humble owner of a gym specializing in boxing. He is voiced by Addam Diggle, who has had many roles, most recently as the voice of Dror Ragzlin from Baldur’s Gate 3 and the psychotic arcanist Vigintio from Bravely Default 2.
