Chelsea have released their new kit ahead of the new season and it is already dividing opinions.

Both the Blues men’s and women’s teams are facing a new era under new coaches Enzo Maresca and Sonia Bompastor.

And ahead of the 2024-25 season, Chelsea have released a new, sponsorless Nike kit featuring a “bold new design” reminiscent of an oil slick.

The bright blue color is intended to represent the “hottest part of a flame” and a “burning passion to unite the entire club behind the common goal of being successful on and off the pitch.”

On social media, Chelsea fans expressed mixed opinions about the new kit, with one saying: “This is the worst kit we’ve ever had.”

A third fumed: “I have nothing to say, but it’s so bad I can’t even look at it.”

Other fans, however, were more positive and said that although things did not look good at first, the players were in better shape.

“I really thought it would suit the players better,” posted a fourth Chelsea fan on X.

“I don’t give a shit what people say, this set is beautiful. I will definitely be buying one for myself and a few for my followers,” said a fifth fan.

Chelsea’s kits, similar to the start of last season, will have no sponsor after their one-year deal with Infinite Athlete expires at the end of the 2023/24 season..

The Blues added in their statement: “Jerseys available at retail worldwide from today will no longer feature any printing on the front of the jersey.”

“When a front of shirt partner is announced in the future, fans will have the opportunity to purchase that version through the Megastore or online shop.”

“Unfortunately, the club cannot offer fans the opportunity to return unprinted jerseys to any point of sale after purchase in order to have them branded with the partner.”
