MILLE PETROZZA has 10 song ideas for KREATOR’s next studio album: “I’m constantly writing music”

In a recent interview with Portuguese Look Mag he said: CREATOR Frontman Mille Petrozza talked about the progress of the songwriting sessions for the band’s follow-up to the 2022 album “Hate About Everything” Album. He said (a transcribed BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “I write music all the time. I know that ‘Hate About Everything’ came out in 2022 but sat there for over a year. So for us the album came out almost in 2021 because the music was finished and we didn’t release it because it was still lockdown and we wanted to wait until the whole pandemic was over. So I’ve been writing since 2021 or 2022 when we recorded it, I had already written like 10 songs or so, or 10 ideas for songs. And I could record an album today, but I want to wait until the right moment comes when I have a lyrical concept and everything feels right. For me it’s not important to release something just for the sake of it. I think it just has to feel right… I’d rather be quiet than say something where I have nothing to say.”

When asked whether he and his CREATOR Band members have an idea of when the group’s next album will be released, Mille said: “Yeah, we have a rough idea. We’ve got the album planned for 2026, maybe – but if everything goes well. We’ll probably take ’25 off just to write and record songs. And see where it takes us. But if everything goes to plan, there will be a new album. CREATOR Record at the beginning of ’26.”

On the subject of the “secret” CREATORSuccess, Mille said: “There is no formula or secret. I think it’s basically about believing in what we do and trying to be ourselves rather than trying to be something we’re not. And perseverance is another factor, of course also a bit of luck and being in the right place at the right time. We started very early, as teenagers in the 80s, and I think that kind of helps, as we are one of the first bands to play extreme metal in Europe.”

Petrozza also talked about it CREATOR‘s multi-generational appeal, saying, “That’s just how it goes. I think when you’ve been around for so long, it’s quite natural that people get older and younger kids discover the music that we play. And so I feel very privileged to be able to see that. Not many bands last that long, and I know that not many bands stay together for more than 10 years, or sometimes even 20 or 5 years. We were prepared for that even as kids, and I dedicated my life to it, and I’m glad that there’s so much interest and there are still so many people, almost two or almost three generations of an audience, that still like extreme metal from Germany. It’s a cool thing. I think it’s really cool.”

CREATORs fifteenth studio album, “Hate About Everything”was released in June 2022. The successor to the 2017 “Gods of Violence” was recorded at Hansa Recording Studio in Berlin, Germany. The meetings were chaired by Arthur Rizkwho previously CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, CODE ORANGE, POWER TRIP And SOUL FLYINGamong others.
