WASHINGTON, DC, (July 13, 2024) – Nashville Soccer Club suffered a 2-1 loss to DC United on Saturday night at Audi Field. Despite taking an early lead thanks to Tyler Boyd’s second goal of the season in the 19th minute, Nashville SC could not hold onto its lead.

The game was also notable for another reason, as it marked an important milestone in the club’s youth development program. Isaiah Jonesan 18-year-old Homegrown player, made his competitive debut for Nashville SC. Jones, who signed with the club on February 7, 2024, was the first Academy product to appear in a competitive match for the first team.

Homegrown’s debut: Jones made history as Nashville SC’s first homegrown player, scoring seven minutes plus injury time after coming on as a substitute in the 83rd minute.rd Minute. The former Academy player was the third member to make an MLS debut under interim coach Rumba Munthali (Forster Ajago at Toronto FC; Joey Skinner at Columbus Crew).

Boyd’s in store: Boyd’s 19th-minute goal was his fifth goal involvement of the MLS season, making him the third-best goal involvement player for the Boys in Gold (two goals, three assists – also behind Dru Yearwood).
