AEW star Chris Jericho talks about his retirement

Former WWE star Chris Jerichothe first-ever AEW World Champion, recently spoke about his retirement. Jericho, who began his professional wrestling career in the early 1990s, made a name for himself in WCW.

Jericho’s career began in WCW before he made a splash in WWE in 1999, interrupting The Rock’s promo. The weeks leading up to his debut were marked by a cryptic countdown to the new millennium on WWE programming. He quickly rose to prominence soon after, constantly engaging in feuds with top stars such as The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Triple H and Kurt Angle.

Having had a career in WWE spanning nearly two decades, Chris Jericho had already secured his place as a future Hall of Famer with countless accomplishments. However, in 2019, Jericho decided to bet on himself and joined the startup promotion called AEW. This bet turned out to be a stroke of genius for him. He became the first AEW World Champion by defeating Hangman Page at All Out.

Since 2019, Jericho has been delivering top-notch performances in All Elite Wrestling. He has also played a role in developing young talent such as Sammy Guevara, MJF, Orange Cassidy, Darby Allin, Ricky Starks and others. Over the years, Jericho has remained a key figure in Tony Khan’s promotion. Recently, just before his 53rd birthday in November, Jericho has discussed the possibility of retiring from wrestling.
