Former Tinder founders secure €15 million in Series A of AI legal platform Legalfly

Belgian Legal AI Platform LegalFlyannounced today that it has raised over €15 million in its Series A financing round.

Notion Capital led the financing with participation from Redalpine and Fortino Capital.

LegalFly was founded in 2023 by a team of former Tinder product experts – Ruben Miessen, Kasper Verbeeck, Dennis Montégnies and Gregory Vekemans. The company develops legal AL solutions for law firms and in-house teams, particularly in the finance and insurance sectors.

Clients include dozens of leading European law firms and partnerships with industry giants such as Slaughter & May and Allianz.

“LegalFly is redefining the delivery of legal services, making them more accessible in an enterprise environment while maintaining the highest standards of security and efficiency,” said Ruben Miessen, CEO of LegalFly..

“This investment will enable us to scale our business and drive further innovation to advance the digital transformation of legal services our clients need around the world.”

LegalFly offers a full suite of Legal AI agents designed to automate legal services and increase productivity. Leveraging on-premise anonymization, where a fine-tuned model secures data before it reaches the LLMs, ensures that sensitive client data never leaves a company’s premises.

Combined with an LLM-agnostic platform that selects the best base models for each legal scenario, LegalFly increases both product effectiveness and product safety.

“The legal industry is a natural fit for AI. We have been considering investing in this market for some time and we are very confident that LegalFly will be one of the lasting success stories,” said Jos White, General Partner at Notion Capital.

“The super talented team has a clear vision for the future and has already developed a market leading product. The real proof of this is the way it has been received in the market, which after just one year is simply astonishing.”

Their unique focus on enterprise-level security and an LLM-agnostic platform not only meets a critical need in the industry, but also drives their continued expansion and innovation,” said Sebastian Becker, General Partner at redalpine.

The investment will drive LegalFly’s feature development, expand the team and support LegalFly’s continued expansion across Europe.
