Shanghai: Remember how Salman Khan acted as a “love guru” for Govinda and taught him how to woo Katrina in the 2007 film partner? Well, a Chinese love guru is teaching women how to marry rich men. She reportedly earns 142 million yuan (163 crore rupees) a year just by giving dating and financial advice.

Love guru teaches women how to marry rich men

Qu Qu, popularly known as Ququ Big Woman, started her career as a singer but now works as a relationship influencer. Her real name is Le Chanqu.

Qu Qu rose to popularity last year after a young woman asked her how to choose between her rich boyfriend and a rich admirer.

The woman said her current boyfriend had promised her a bride price of four million yuan (Rs. 40 million) but delayed payment. Her wealthy suitor offered her a monthly allowance of 30,000 yuan (Rs. 345,000) and an apartment in Shanghai for 20 million yuan (Rs. 23 million). Her boyfriend was three years older than her, while her suitor was 15 years older.

Qu Qu suggested that the woman choose her boyfriend because he seemed to be the better option in the long run. South China Morning Post reported.

The love guru calls herself the “McKinsey of relationships.” She believes that relationships and marriage are a step up the social ladder to financial gain.

In a video, Qu Qu said: “All relationships are essentially about exchanging benefits. Everything should be used to increase my advantage and strengthen me.”

To avoid being banned from social media, Qu Wu refers to marriage as “inside the fortress,” money as “rice,” and pregnancy as “carrying a ball.”

Qu Qu’s most popular course, “Valuable Relationships,” costs 3,580 yuan (Rs. 41,000). A one-on-one consultation during her livestreams costs 1,143 yuan (Rs. 13,000), while private counseling sessions cost more than 10,000 yuan (Rs. 1.15 lakh) per month.

Blocked account

Weibo blocked Qu Qu’s account last December because he “repeatedly promoted unhealthy relationship views to attract attention and profited from selling courses and instilling false values.”

However, this did not stop Qu Qu from being present on social media. She now uses AI to market herself and also redirects customers to private channels for her own protection.

Internet users react

Social media users are divided about Qu Qu’s business and his attitude towards love and relationships.

One user said, “Her approach is understandable. What’s wrong with wanting both love and money? This is a realistic society. Why shouldn’t people strive for better?” Another wrote, “She has had a profound impact on me this year. I’ve learned fundamental concepts like goal orientation and using every opportunity for self-empowerment. Her insights on recognizing a man’s true nature are invaluable. I highly recommend her.”

A third user added: “She teaches girls to use men as money makers and encourages competition among women. But she herself makes a living by working hard and relying on her own efforts. Isn’t that hypocritical?” Another commented: “In the competitive world of monetizing beauty, the successful are just underdogs. These rich men are not stupid. They don’t fall for obvious schemes.”
