Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson speaks to reporters alongside attorney Ben Crump and Representatives Troy Carter (D-La.) and Nikema Williams (D-Ga.) outside the Capitol in Washington, DC, on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, to raise awareness for Black-owned businesses and wealth.

A number of celebrities, including rapper 50 Cent and singer Kid Rock, reacted on social media to the attempted assassination of former President Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania.

The former president said Saturday he was struck in the ear by a bullet while speaking at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. One rally attendee was killed, as was the suspected gunman, whom the FBI identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.

Two other spectators were seriously injured, the secret service said.

Kid Rock, who has become a voice for the far-right movement, posted a video on Instagram on Saturday in which he wears a baseball cap that reads “White Boy of the Year.”

“If you mess with Trump, you mess with me,” the singer said.

On Saturday, 50 Cent posted a photo of his studio album “Get Rich or Die Tryin” on the social platform X, in which Trump’s head is inserted onto the rapper’s body.

“Trump gets shot and now I’m trending (shrug emoji),” the rapper wrote above the photo.

In an earlier post from the rapper, which has since been deleted, 50 Cent posted a photo showing the moment Trump raised his fist in the air moments after he was grazed and bloodied by a bullet. The rapper attached his song “Many Men (Wish Death)” and wrote, “I know the vibe… we’re all in trouble now!”

The lyrics read: “Many men wish me dead. Blood in my eyes.” It was not immediately clear why the post was deleted.

Country singer Scotty McCreery said Saturday he was praying for the country, while singer Dave Matthews responded onstage at a show in Virginia.

“That’s not how you behave. My condolences to the families of the injured, but my goodness, that’s not how you run a democracy, that’s not how you can be part of a democracy,” he said, according to a video posted by a user on X.

John Rich of the music duo Big & Rich posted the viral photo of Trump with his fist in the air and wrote: “They couldn’t beat him in a fair contest so they tried to kill him. BUT THEY MISSED.”

In another post, Rich posted a video from the rally in which Trump said “fight” shortly after the shooting and captioned it, “GIVE IT TO ME.”

Rapper Soulja Boy reposted a video of the shooting and wrote: “There is no way they just shot Trump (incredible emoji).”

Trump on Sunday thanked the nation for its concern about the attempt on his life and called on Americans to unite.

Later in the day, he said he would travel to Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention.

“Due to the horrific events of yesterday, I was going to postpone my trip to Wisconsin and the Republican National Convention for two days, but have just decided that I cannot allow a ‘shooter’ or potential assassin to force changes to the schedule or anything else,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Therefore, I will leave for Milwaukee TODAY at 3:30 p.m. as planned. Thank you!”
