BERRIEN COUNTY, MI – A murder suspect wanted in the state of Indiana has been arrested in Michigan, according to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect, a 48-year-old woman from Indiana, was taken into custody on Saturday evening, July 13.
Details about the woman’s arrest were limited.
Police arrested the woman around 8:18 p.m. Saturday on North Thompson Street near East Buffalo Street in New Buffalo.
Investigators attributed the arrest to license plate readers that passively monitor vehicles and send officers an alert when a stolen vehicle or wanted person is spotted.
“This timely information allows officers to respond promptly, locate and arrest wanted individuals, and assist in the disposition of criminal cases,” the sheriff’s office said in a press release.
