Joy Koy recently shared how he feels after splitting from his ex-comedian Chelsea Handler.

A year after the separation, Jo Koy speaks openly about Chelsea Handler.

The Easter Sunday The 52-year-old actor reflected on his feelings for his ex, who he split from in July 2022, and said there are still no hard feelings between the two.

“She is a wonderful person and we are still friends,” said Koy Page Six at the opening of Here lies love On Broadway.

He described their 11-month relationship as “a beautiful time” and praised the star, who just finished his US comedy tour last month.

“She’s doing beautiful things right now,” he added. “She’s absolutely amazing right now, so I have nothing but the very best love for her.”

Handler, 48, announced on Instagram in July 2022 that she and Koy had split, posting a video they planned to share on their one-year anniversary. She wrote alongside the clip, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce that we have mutually decided that it is best for us to take a break from our relationship at this time.”

She talked more about the separation in an episode of Brooke Shields’ What now? She said she initially thought Koy was the right one.

“I really believed that this was my husband,” she said. “I thought, ‘Oh my God, I won. I have everything. I have my career, I have respect, I have my family, I have so many friends, I have all these things.’ And then I thought, this is the person I’m going to spend my life with.”

Handler admitted that she was open to the idea of ​​marriage because it was something important to Koy, but noted that toward the end of the relationship, “it just became clear that it wasn’t my thing.”

“There were some behaviors we disagreed on,” she explained. “I felt like I had to give up on myself, which might have been OK if I was 20 or 25, but I wasn’t ready to do that. No matter how much I loved this person – and I loved him so much – I wasn’t going to give up on myself.”

“I’m not going to change my behavior to make you feel more comfortable. I’m not going to do that, and I had to walk away from what I truly believed was going to be a forever relationship,” Handler continued. “So that was difficult.”
