A big difference is that Tell them you love me is not a series, but a documentary that lasts about an hour and 42 minutes and was first released in 2023. But you know how Netflix works: A series or film can be discovered on the streamer long after its first broadcast. This seems to be the case for Tell them you love me. Tell them you love me revolves around a controversial relationship that caused a stir and a lot of concern. The relationship was between Derrick Johnson, a black man with cerebral palsy who was never able to communicate, and Anna Stubblefield, a white, competent woman who was hired as Derrick’s caregiver. Oh, and did we mention he can’t speak? Needless to say, that would worry anyone.
