Young voters comment on the outcome of the 2024 presidential election

AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – Young voters in our region also made their presence felt at a rally hosted by former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania on Sunday evening following Saturday’s assassination attempt.

According to a U.S. News poll, more than 60 percent of young voters believe this will be one of the most important elections in history. In Hampshire County, many say they have mixed feelings after Saturday’s event. Some are curious about what it means for the future of both political parties.

“What would the opposite be? What would Biden look like in the same situation? Would he still be as heroic as Trump?” said Zeno Doeleman of Amherst.

“People who have violence in their hearts will always find their way and do it,” said Renu Pinjarala of Amherst.

Amherst resident Jon Mathew Caballeros told 22News: “Very shocking. Especially because this kind of thing doesn’t really happen here in the United States.”

Many young voters between the ages of 18 and 30 still want to vote in the upcoming elections. However, some say they are overwhelmed by the political climate.
