Accident with tree kills driver in Manchester, police say

Salvina Tannenholz of Manchester was found unconscious in a blue 2020 Subaru Outback at the scene of the accident on Devereux Drive near the intersection with Renaissance Boulevard around 6 p.m. on July 13, Manchester Township police said in a news release.

Her vehicle had suffered “significant damage to the front” and “Tannenholz was unconscious and not breathing,” the statement said.

The police described what happened next as follows:

“First responders immediately initiated life-saving measures, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Tannenholz was subsequently transported to Community Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.”

She was traveling south on Renaissance Boulevard before she failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and struck a curb, the press release said.

She “appeared to not have been wearing a seat belt prior to the accident,” police said, but noted that “an unknown medical incident appears to be the primary factor in the accident.”

Paramedics from Manchester Township Emergency Services, paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and members of the Ridgeway Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.

This accident remains under investigation by Patrolman Keith Douglas of the agency’s Traffic Safety Unit.
