ADNOC implements AIQ’s ‘game-changing’ AI well control solution RoboWell on fully digital offshore fields

(WO) – ADNOC announced the deployment of RoboWell, AIQ’s groundbreaking autonomous well control solution based on artificial intelligence (AI), in its offshore NASR field operations.

RoboWell uses cloud-based AI algorithms to operate wells autonomously and adapt to changing conditions. This improves safe well operations, increases efficiency, reduces the need for travel and physical intervention, and thus minimizes emissions.

Located 130 km northwest of Abu Dhabi, NASR is a fully digital offshore field that uses a range of technology solutions to maximize production and minimize emissions. RoboWell was initially deployed on 10 wells at NASR, with further deployment of the AI ​​solution on over 300 wells across ADNOC’s offshore and onshore operations planned this year.

RoboWell was developed by AIQ and ADNOC’s Thamama Excellence Center, a state-of-the-art center that uses big data, digitalization and intelligent analytics to facilitate access to oil and gas resources and better exploit the value of existing reservoirs.

RoboWell was first deployed in 2023 in the onshore NEB field, ADNOC’s first ‘smart field’ that pioneered the implementation of industry-leading, AI-powered cutting-edge technologies.
