Katy Perry says the music video for Woman’s World is “satire”

KATY Perry called the music video for “Woman’s World” satire, but her fans claimed the pop singer was backtracking after the song sparked strong reactions.

Last week, the former American Idol judge released the music video for “Woman’s World,” which received mixed reactions from fans.

In the comments section of the music video, one fan wrote: “This feels like a feminism parody gone wrong.”

“This is what a feminist video clip would look like if it was made by a man,” commented another.

A third wrote: “This looks like a satire on feminism in The Boys.”

On Saturday, pop culture X-account Pop Craze (formerly Twitter) posted a video of 39-year-old Katy Perry explaining the satirical meaning behind the Woman’s World video.

In the video, the Roar singer was seen on the set of the music video for Woman’s World, surrounded by background dancers.

She screamed, “Girl boss sh*t,” “You can do it,” “Do it girl,” and “You were born to shine,” before explaining that she and the director were “having a little fun” and being very “sarcastic” with the video.

Katy said: “It’s very slapstick and very obvious.”

The Queen of Camp and her backing dancers were dressed like sexy construction workers and revealed: “With this set, it’s like saying, ‘Oh, we’re not about the male gaze, but we’re really about the male gaze.’

“And we’re really exaggerating and taking things to the extreme.”

In the comments section of the post, one person wrote: “Imagine having to explain your obvious vision to viewers.”

Another commented: “Satirical? After the backlash she’s grasping at straws.”

Although the video may not have been as successful as Katy had hoped, her explanation of the issues was recorded during the production of the video.

The insults “Cringe” and “Flopped” also marred the comment section of the explanatory video.

WOMEN’S WORLD

In her music video for “Woman’s World,” Katy was seen dancing in a provocative outfit while downing a bottle of alcohol.

At the beginning of the video, the pop singer sits on a metal support next to female background dancers.

She had her arms bent to show off her muscles, like Rosie The Riveter.

The video then alternated between several more frames, including the squeezing of one of Katy’s breasts.

With this set, it’s like saying, ‘Oh, we’re not about the male gaze, but we’re really about the male gaze.'”

She wore a jeweled bikini top with the American flag printed on it.

The Hot ‘N Cold singer previously wore the piece in promotional photos for the song posted on July 4.

Elsewhere in the video, Katy was seen wearing the same top, a tiny pair of shorts and a tool belt.

Katy held a drill in the air and pulled the trigger.

The video showed the California native dancing before cutting to a scene where she poured whiskey straight from the bottle into her mouth.

It’s very slapstick and very intrusive.”

In the comments, fans expressed their dismay and excitement.

“ROOM FOR THE QUEEN OF POP,” said one supporter.

“The Queen of Pop is back,” enthused a second fan.

“WE ARE SO READY,” posted another fan, adding a screenshot of Katy’s breasts from the video.

“Legend,” commented another supporter.

Someone else praised: “My jaw drops.”

KATYS NEW ERA

Katy announced her new single on June 17th.

In the weeks that followed, she released teasers for her latest song and filmed herself dancing in the closet in a video posted on social media.

The TV star wore a short white top with the words “Feminine Divine” printed on it.

She showed off her pink underwear and pulled it out of her black sweatpants.

Katy drew attention to the lyrics by wearing it on a long train attached to a sexy red mini dress during a visit to Paris.
