Months before her death, Shannen Doherty revealed exactly what would happen to her remains.

In her podcast “Let’s Be Clear” in January, the actress said she wanted her ashes to be “mixed with the ashes of her dog and her father” in her time.

“So, mix it up properly so that it’s a healthy mix of my father, me and Bowie,” she said, adding: “I don’t want to be buried. I want to be cremated.”

Doherty also gave her boyfriend and guest host of the episode, Chris Cortazzo, permission to wear some of her ashes around his neck, just as she did with her father’s ashes after his death in 2010.

Cortazzo was one of the last people to be publicly photographed with Doherty before her death on Saturday.

They appeared to be in high spirits when they were spotted together in Malibu, California, in June, leaving Kristy’s waterfront restaurant with another companion.

The former “Charmed” actress died at the age of 53 after a long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her family and her beloved dog when she died.

Doherty has been open with her fans about her years-long journey with cancer, telling attendees at 90s Con in September 2023 that she fights for her life “every day.”

By this time, her breast cancer had already metastasized to her brain.

Later, in November, she announced that the disease had spread to her bones.

“I think I would be afraid of dying if I wasn’t a good person, but I am,” she told People at the time. “I’m not afraid of dying, I just don’t want to die, like, ever.”

She continued, “I’m not done living, I’m not done loving, I’m not done creating, I’m not done hopefully changing things for the better. I’m just not done.”

In April, however, she revealed that she was going through her belongings – and even moving out of her Tennessee home – to prepare for her death and make life easier for her mother.

But just a few weeks before her death, Doherty remained “hopeful” about new treatment options in her podcast.

After her death, the actress was remembered by fans and friends, including several of her co-stars from “Beverly Hills, 90210.”

“She was a force of nature and I will miss her. Sending love and light to her family during this dark time,” Jason Priestley, who played Doherty’s twin brother in the hit series, wrote on Instagram.

“You were a huge part of my understanding of love. I will miss you more than I can handle right now. Thank you for this gift,” Brian Austin Green also posted on his account.

Even Doherty’s former “Charmed” co-star Alyssa Milano remembered her in a tribute, despite their previous public feud.

“It’s no secret that Shannen and I had a complicated relationship, but at the core, this was someone I deeply respected and was in awe of,” Milano said in a statement to Page Six on Sunday.

“She was a talented actress, loved by many, and without her the world is less.”
