Jake Hager claims Sting has never outdone anyone in AEW, unlike Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho is a true veteran in the professional wrestling industry, whose career spans more than 30 years. Despite this, there are people who believe that Jericho only buries talent in AEW and never highlights them. Interestingly, Jake Hager believes that Sting is the one who never highlights anyone.

Le Champion has faced numerous opponents throughout his career in AEW. Jericho has never failed to beat talents such as MJF, Orange Cassidy, Action Andretti and others. He has lost to all of the above talents and more as Jericho looks to build talent for the future.

Jake Hager has frequently praised Chris Jericho for bringing him to AEW and making him part of the Inner Circle when the promotion debuted on television in October 2019. Hager remained associated with Jericho throughout his tenure in AEW, which ended in May.

During his speech at the No Shave Man Cave, Hager shared his thoughts on Jericho’s influence in AEW. He pointed out that Jericho’s willingness to promote new talent sets him apart from other veteran wrestlers. Hager noted that stars like Triple H, The Undertaker and Sting have not focused on promoting younger talent, while Jericho has made it a priority.

Hager highlighted Jericho’s efforts to build the company by helping to establish new stars, citing the example of Orange Cassidy, whose popularity skyrocketed after working with Jericho. He expressed frustration that Jericho’s contributions often go unrecognized, and praised his selflessness and commitment to AEW’s growth.

“That’s what I like about it. Have you seen Triple H outshine new guys? Have you seen Undertaker outshine new guys? Have you seen top guys that have been in the business as long as Jericho outshine anybody? Has Sting outshined anybody? No. (Jericho) is trying to build something. He gets it. It drives me crazy that nobody talks about it. He outshines these guys. He puts his stamp on them. Did he get Orange Cassidy hot? I mean, come on. I’m biased, but I think the fact that he’s so selfless in building this company. Forget it..”

Sting successfully retired in AEW Revolution and fans couldn’t be happier with how he was booked during his time in AEW. However, Jake Hager will always feel that Sting never outdid anyone and that’s not likely to change anytime soon.
