Jennifer Lopez admitted that she is better at acting than singing

Jennifer Lopez said she was better at acting than singing

Over the years, Lopez has given critically acclaimed performances in several different films and is proud of her talent as an actress.

“I think I’m a really great performer,” she told Vanity Fair, adding, “I think I’m a really great actress. I’m confident about these things – that’s a better way of putting it.”

She has also been a singer, releasing nine albums over the past 25 years. However, she is not so confident about her singing abilities.

“I’m not as gifted a singer as some of the other girls, but I know I communicate,” she said. “When I think of great singers, I think of Marc (Anthony), Luther Vandross and Whitney Houston. But Marc helped me a lot; he always said I had a beautiful voice and it was better than I thought.”

Some critics believe that Lopez’s music career has actually prevented her from being taken seriously as an actress.

Although Lopez received recognition for her acting roles, she was never nominated for an Oscar. However, she came close after winning her lead role in HustlersShe received a lot of awards for the role, but no Oscar. Lopez found this devastating.

“It was hard. I just had very low self-esteem,” she said in the documentary Halftime (according to Vanity Fair). “I really had to figure out who I was and believe in that and nothing else.”

Lopez said the run-up to the Oscars was exciting because of the buzz around her performance, and it hurt not to live up to it.

“I was a little sad because there was so much excitement,” she explained. “There were so many articles. I got so many good reviews – more than I’ve ever had in my career – and there was a lot of ‘She’s going to get nominated for an Oscar. This is going to happen; if not, you’re crazy.’ I read all the articles and thought, Oh my God, could this happen? And then it didn’t happen and I thought, Ouch. It was a little disappointing.”

She began her career as a dancer

While Lopez now works primarily as an actress and singer, she began her career as a dancer. She studied dance during her childhood and had her breakthrough as a Fly Girl in In vibrant color. She continues to show off her dancing skills in her musical performances.
