When Swifties go to the Eras Tour, they are often prepared to sing every word of the entire three-hour-plus show. In fact, aside from which breathtaking costumes she wears and what surprise songs she singsthere is very little that changes from show to show. But not even Taylor Swift can control everything. She is carried out in heavy rainfor example and requires Help from her background dancers due to stage malfunctions. Bugs are another thing that has proven to be a problem for the chairman of The “Tortured Poets” sectionand a fan’s video showed her reaction when she swallowed a bug during a performance.
Taylor Swift has been on the European leg of her world tour and this weekend she was in Milan, Italy, where she treated her fans to two mashups during her acoustic set. After playing “The 1” and “Wonderland” on guitar, she sat down at the piano and began a medley of “I Almost Do” and “The Moment I Knew,” only to be interrupted by a virus flying down her throat. The artist coughed and stopped singing, immediately telling the crowd, “There are so many bugs here tonight,” and saying she was fine, just coughing a little. She turned away from the microphone to do so and then continued with the mashup — without water or anything. It’s a pretty awesome move, and it’s possible she pulled it off so well because it wasn’t the first time she’d done it.
In fact, this was the third time Taylor Swift involuntarily consumed insects during her Eras Tour. The first incident occurred on June 4, 2023 in Chicago. Fans were increasingly alarmed when the singer suddenly stopped speaking, grabbed her mouth and began to gag. She then explained what happened, joking, “Oh, delicious!” and asked if it was possible that no one saw that after she turned around to cough.
On June 23 of this year, it happened again, during her third concert in London. Swift contracted a virus while singing “All Too Well (10 Minute Version),” and told everyone to “keep singing” as she struggled through a few lines before recovering.
The clowns always appear when there is a hint of coincidence. Taylor Swift and all upcoming projectsso it didn’t go unnoticed by Swifties that bugs were flying in her mouth on both nights she performed “The Moment I Knew” as one of her surprise songs (Chicago’s third show and Milan’s first). However, I think even the biggest conspiracy theorists would agree that swallowing bugs will probably have nothing to do with the announcement of Call (Taylor’s Version)Release date or whatever else the mastermind has planned.
We’ll just have to wait and see what’s next for Taylor Swift (and how many more bugs she eats), and until then, you can best moments of The Epoch Tour Movie on Disney+, one of the best streaming services subscribe to.
