CBS Sports ranks Zac Taylor among the league’s top 10 big game coaches

CINCINNATI — CBS Sports has released its rankings of NFL head coaches for the most important games and Zac Taylor comes in at number 10.

His tenure, which was all about boom or bust, was enough to earn him a place among the top names.

“That’s a resume that’s either up or down,” wrote Cody Benjamin. “Taylor had a terrible 6-25-1 record before Joe Burrow stayed healthy in 2021 and then made back-to-back AFC Championship appearances. His work without the injured Burrow in late 2023 has added some value to his value, but his overall development remains unclear.”

Taylor’s chances of playing big are obviously tied to Burrow’s health, which declined last season. A full season from Burrow could give Taylor a few more chances on the game’s top stages.
