If and when Tennessee State Baseball wins its first college World Series title, the Vols’ championship gear will be available in Knoxville the next morning.

Meanwhile, Tennessee baseball-themed T-shirts, hoodies, jerseys, hats and other merchandise are selling like hotcakes at Dick’s, the sportswear store HoundDogs of Knoxville and the local T-shirt shop Nothing Too Fancy.

HoundDogs manager Jesse Thomason told Knox News, “People are just grabbing orange stuff and getting ready to drive to Omaha to watch the finals” – a trip that could cost a whopping $12,000 including travel, accommodations and tickets.

The best-of-three final between No. 1 Tennessee and No. 3 Texas A&M will take place June 22-24.

When and where can I buy Tennessee Baseball Championship merchandise?

HoundDogs has already ordered “tons” of championship merchandise that will be available the morning of June 24 if Tennessee takes the title in two games. If it takes three games, it will be available June 25, Thomason said.

Dick’s will also offer championship merchandise as soon as possible, said Cortny Bean, apparel manager at the company’s House of Sport store in Knoxville. The retailer might even offer player-specific jerseys, Bean said, but that depends on the store’s suppliers.

What are the most popular Vols items? Which players stand out?

As for player popularity, a Christian Moore shirt is one of the top sellers at Nothing Too Fancy just off Market Square. The store at 435 Union Ave. is selling the shirt with photos of the promising MLB prospect (and his signature) under a name, image and likeness agreement.

These shirts are available in limited quantities in adult and child sizes.

Nothing Too Fancy offers a wide selection of Tennessee sportswear you may not find at other retailers, helping you stand out from other Vols fans.

One item that’s guaranteed to catch your eye is the giant orange Noggin Boss Tennessee hat available at Dick’s. Bean was surprised at how well the oversized hats sold, but noted that it’s the perfect item to get signed by players.

If you can’t wait for the Vols to win to get some championship apparel, HoundDogs is selling an orange t-shirt with all the 2024 World Series teams on the back. Dick’s House of Sport also has orange World Series merchandise, as well as Tennessee baseball hoodies and jerseys that have been hard to keep in stock.

“I know we’re going to be overwhelmed with people getting ready on Friday night,” Bean told Knox News. “Even if they’re not going to the game, they’re still going to be wearing orange. So we’re going to be busy Friday and Saturday, I’m sure.”

Is Vols baseball now as popular as Tennessee football?

The Tennessee State baseball club has enjoyed several successful seasons since Tony Vitello was appointed head coach in 2017, resulting in multiple appearances in the NCAA Regionals, Super Regionals and the College World Series.

The success is giving local businesses a boost, with HoundDogs and Nothing Too Fancy seeing increased sales during baseball season.

“It’s been pretty busy here the last few years. And right now it’s almost like football season here,” Thomason said. “Football is number one by far and nothing can hold a candle to it, but baseball is a tough second right now.”

At Dick’s, sales always increase when a University of Tennessee team has a winning streak or reaches a final, Bean said. UT apparel accounts for about a third of the store’s sales.
