The last public photos taken of Shannen Doherty before her death on Saturday showed her smiling with friends.

The “Beverly Hills, 90210” star was photographed with her longtime pal Chris Cortazzo and a female friend on June 16 as they left Kristy’s waterfront restaurant in Malibu, California.

The trio seemed to be in high spirits and enjoying each other’s company. Cortazzo even had an arm around Doherty.

The actress wore flared jeans, an oversized button-down T-shirt and a black newsboy cap, and held a brown paper bag in her arms.

Doherty died at the age of 53 after a years-long battle with cancer.

In March 2015, she was diagnosed with breast cancer and there was public speculation that she had five years to live after the cancer metastasized to her lymph nodes.

However, in April 2017, she announced that her disease was in remission.

Less than three years later, in February 2020, the former “Charmed” actress announced that the cancer had returned in stage four, which subsequently metastasized to her brain and, earlier this year, to her bones.

Doherty has been open about her health and outlook over the years, revealing in April that she was preparing for her death by going through her belongings – and even packing up her Tennessee home – to make things “a lot easier” for her mother.

While she mentally prepared herself and her family for the worst, she said in November 2023 that she felt like she still had a lot of life left.

“I’m not done living, I’m not done loving, I’m not done creating, I’m not done changing things hopefully for the better,” she told People at the time.

In the June 25 episode of her podcast “Let’s Be Clear,” she said she was “hopeful” about her cancer treatment plan.

“The positive thing is that the molecular structure of my cancer cells has recently changed, so I can try many more treatment protocols,” she explained.

The self-proclaimed “cancer fighter” leaves behind her mother Rosa Elizabeth Doherty and her brother Sean Doherty.

She had no children and was in the middle of a tense divorce from her third husband, Kurt Iswarienko, when she died.
