Nancy MacKenzie, a voice actress who is best known for her voice work for Marge Simpson, The simpsons in Spanish for the Latin American audience, has died. She was 81 years old.
MacKenzie voiced the cartoon character for the first 15 seasons in Latin America. Her former co-stars shared the news of her death on social media.
“It is with deep sadness that the Simpson children (Lisa and Bart) announce the passing of our beloved mother Marge Simpson (Nancy MacKenzie),” reads the Instagram post by Patricia Acevedo, who voices Lisa Simpson for Latin America. “Rest in peace. You will never be forgotten.”
The post was accompanied by a video with photos of the Latin American speakers The simpsons through the years.
“We will miss you, dear mom, forever,” reads a caption at the end of the video in a scene between Lisa and Marge.
The studio that synchronizes The simpsons In Spanish, the New Art Group published a post in tribute to the late actress.
“Your voice is and will be part of your legacy,” read the caption of the Facebook post.
Humberto Vélez, who voices Homer Simpson in Latin America, also paid tribute to the late MacKenzie.
“Many hours together, working, traveling. A lifetime. It hurts me so much that you are gone, but I celebrate your way of joy, of freedom, of living life to the fullest,” Vélez wrote on Instagram. “Thank you for always listening to me, for your unconditional support in the union issue that we are going through together. Thank you for the laughter, the debates, the trust. Thank you for getting through this period of life with me.”
He continued, “You were, are and will be a fundamental part of the most important work project of my work. You are many things. You are my wife, Marge.”
MacKenzie was born in Lima, Peru and made her career as a voice actress in Mexico. In addition to her voice for Marge in The simpsonsMacKenzie also lent her voice to Disney villain Cruella de Vil, Daphne in The Thirteen Ghosts of Scooby-Do and Sailor Galaxia in Sailor Moon CosmosShe also dubbed many famous actresses such as Bette Midler, Diane Keaton, Sigourney Weaver and Judi Dench.
